We’re all alive and doing fine but don’t have any time to keep up the blog right now. Hopefully we will in the future.
It was a lazy weekend. We didn’t do anything exciting. I did take some photos of the pugs over the last few days.

Tomorrow they are going to daycare. It looks like this will be the place they regularly go to.
So the pugs haven’t spent a lot of time outside today. They’ve been out a bit barking at some landscapers who are working outside. They’ve seemed to be more into laying in the sun spots today.
We have some news. I’ve gotten a new job, so I won’t be working at home anymore. I’ll be nearby (5 miles away), but Roy & Gwen will be going to daycare a few days a week. The socialization and exercise and important. They’ve turned into some lazy pugs over the last year and a half being at home with me.
We’ve checked out a few daycares in the area, and we’ve found 2 that we really like. Once is not so close though. The other is in the same town we live in and is a very nice place! It reminds us a lot of the daycare they went to in California. The pugs immediately loved it there! Roy peed on everything since that’s what he loves to do. There is a really big outside area too, so they will be able to sun and run around.
Today is a nice day (66° out!) so the pugs will be outside I’m sure most of the afternoon. I will take some photos of them to post in a bit.
Today is warmish and sunny. The pugs were outside for a bit. But I think they don’t like being outside by themselves, as they will come back to the office and hang out with me because I’m there. We don’t have any furniture outside yet, so I can’t go sit outside with my laptop. I’d like to do that.
Daycare went very well yesterday. It was their test day to make sure they did okay so they can go there. I knew they’d do okay since they used to go to daycare before. The place seems nice and is much smaller than the daycare they went to in California. We’re visiting a few daycares in the area to see which one is the best for them. One we’re going to next week is called a Doggie Day Spa.
I’m home alone today. I work from home full-time, so I’m used to having Roy & Gwen keeping me company all the time. Not today, though. Today they are out having fun at a new doggie daycare. We thought they needed some more socialization and exercise. I will report on their first day when they get home tonight.
Seems like our camera is working again. That is good! Here is a photo of the pugs from this afternoon.

The pugs had baths last night cause they stunk. They are soft and clean-smelling now!
Roy went to the vet yesterday. He needed his anal sacs drained and his facial folds checked out cause they were not looking good. He has an infection in his folds so he has a nice twice daily cream. Gwen too, of course, as the vet said her lint trap seems to be an infection too. Of course, they love having the cream put on their faces! Lots of extra treats being given out lately.
The vet also checked out Roy’s eyes. He has two potentially bad eye issues. First is an “incomplete blink”, which means he doesn’t blink fully all the time, so a little strip in the middle of his eye gets drier than the rest and than can lead eventually to vision problems. He also has something called entropion, in which is lower eyelid folds over into his eye and his little eyelashes irritate his eye. Roy has a nice twice daily eye ointment for these. After that for 5 days, he will be on tear replacement drops for the rest of his life. The vet said to do the same with Gwen, just for preventing any potential issues since pugs are prone to eye issues.
Finally, Roy got some antibiotics for his gnarly chin acne. It was better lately because we were using Stridex pads on his chin daily, but a few months ago it was like his chin was like a pimple minefield. He put the most pimply teenagers to shame. The vet also gave us like 10 refills of the antibiotics, so if he has a flare-up in the future we can just drop by and get some more.
Do any of you deal with these or other eye issues? I know a lot of pugs have chin acne issues, but I haven’t read much about eye issues.
